My 2nd Trip to Hobbiton: Still Feels Like the First Time 🌿✨

Even though this was my second time visiting Hobbiton, it still felt like it was the first.
We went on a sunny, not‑too‑busy day, and the combination of the clear sky and the slower crowd made the whole experience feel extra peaceful and magical.

We booked a guided tour that picked us up by bus from our meeting point, then took us directly up to the Hobbiton Movie Set just outside Matamata.

The short drive through the rolling Waikato farmland already felt like the start of a Middle‑earth adventure, and once we stepped onto the set—past the green‑roofed Hobbit holes, the Mill, and the double‑arch bridge—it really did feel like Bilbo had just stepped out for a walk.

If you go, bring your camera and charge it fully, because every corner feels like you’ve stepped into a different place—like you’re actually in the movie instead of just watching it.

“We are up for an adventure!” — and that’s exactly how it felt being there again.
