Redwoods Rotorua Night Tree Walk: Magic in the Rain 🌧️🌳✨

We went to Redwoods Treewalk Rotorua on a bit drenched night last month, and honestly, the rain just made it feel even more dreamy.

Walking through the 120‑year‑old redwood forest after dark, wrapped in soft light and the sound of dripping leaves, felt like stepping into a quiet, glowing fairytale.

The Redwoods Nightlights Treewalk takes you 9–20 metres up on 700 metres of suspension bridges and platforms, lit by 34 incredible lanterns.

Even though the weather was wet, it worked in our favour: fewer people, more time to wander, and the forest looked extra alive as the colours and reflections shone off the rain‑soaked branches.

If you’re in Rotorua and it’s drizzly or cloudy, don’t skip this—it’s actually a perfect wet‑weather, night‑time adventure that turns moody weather into part of the magic.
