Our Day 2 in Taiwan was one of those “full‑day, weather‑doesn’t‑matter” kind of adventures. We were tired from our late arrival, but the map was packed: Yehliu Geopark, Shifen Village, Shifen Waterfall, Yongqing Village, an outlet shopping spree on Day 3, and Raohe Street Night Market to close it all out.

We booked the tour in Klook (my friend booked it so I did not have enough details, sorry!).

Day 2: Cloudy, a little rainy, but totally worth it ☁️🌧️

We started early and headed to Yehliu Geopark, a surreal coastal geological park about an hour from Taipei.
The sky was cloudy and it drizzled a bit, but the weird rock formations—like the famous Queen’s Head Rock—looked even more dramatic with the mist and the sea crashing against them.

After the geopark, the tour bus went to Shifen Village, the “sky lantern village” everyone talks about.
 Despite the cloudy weather, the streets were buzzing with people writing wishes on their lanterns and letting them float up into the sky.

Later that day, I also got to snap a photo in Chongwen (Chiu‑fen Old Street area), the hillside village that looks like it jumped straight out of a Studio Ghibli Spirited Away scene.

Lantern‑lined alleys, steep stairways, and red‑and‑gold signs made it feel like a dreamy, slightly magical movie set.

Shifen Waterfall & Yongqing Village 🌊🏞️

From Shifen Village, we continued on to Shifen Waterfall, known as one of Taiwan’s widest waterfalls and a super easy walk from the main road.


Even with the overcast sky, the mist and the sound of rushing water made it a peaceful stop before heading to Yongqing Village, a quieter, more low‑key area tucked away from the main tourist strip.

By the time we got back to Taipei that night, we were completely exhausted—but in the best way possible. It was one of those “full‑day, full‑heart” itineraries that still feels vivid when I look at the photos.

Day 3: Shopping rush at Gloria Outlets + snack‑heaven night market 🛍️🍢

Our last official day in Taiwan leaned into the “treat‑yourself” vibe.

We headed over to Gloria Outlets, a huge American‑style outdoor outlet mall in Taoyuan, about a short train or bus ride from Taipei.

It’s a great place to grab discounted brands, souvenirs, and even a quick bite between shops.

After all the shopping, we closed out our trip the best way we knew how: food, food, and more food at Raohe Street Night Market.

It’s one of Taipei’s oldest and most famous night markets, stretching about 600 meters of almost non‑stop stalls.

We wandered with our phones out, hunting for Michelin‑listed Bib Gourmand spots and famous local bites like stinky tofu, oyster omelette, grilled squid, and bubbling bubble tea.

By the time we dragged ourselves back to the apartment that night, we were both stuffed, a little sleepy, and totally in love with how Taiwan tied everything together: nature, lantern‑filled old streets, and food that kept us coming back for more.
